The Nam Bo school was in Northwest Vietnam, near the town of Bac Ha. It was a small school that served about 60 kids from the Flower H'mong, Dzao, and Nung hill tribes. The school had no electricity, no heat, and few supplies. In June 2007, the school was destroyed by a landslide. No children were there at the time, but their school is gone. Now school is held part time in an abandoned building with a leaky roof. Even the blackboards were lost.

Some of your neighbors are raising money to rebuild the school. We are working with the the Sunflower Mission, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has built many schools in Vietnam. In addition to serving as our fiscal agent, the Sunflower Mission brings expertise on how to successfully involve the people of the village in building a school. Our goal is to raise at least $20,000 which, along with sweat equity from people in the community, will allow us to build a new school.
